    Q. Can the 2.7 control and 3.x co-exist?

    A. Yes, the 2.7 control is an ActiveX control, and the 3.x control is a .NET assembly DLL.

    Q. I am trying to use the 3.x control, and cannot find any reference to it at all in dotnet.

    A. To use ERM 3.x in a .NET windows application, you need to add the component to your toolbox. Click on the the Tools - Customise Toolbox menu. If the Crainiate.ERM and Crainiate.ERM.SVG entries do not appear, and select the .NET Framework Components tab. Select the browse button and select the Crainiate.ERM.dll file and, optionally, the Crainiate.ERM.SVG.dll file in the program installation folder (c:\Program Files\Crainiate\ERM 3.x by default).

For more information see the Getting Started section in the help file.

    Q. My distributed application is still asking the user for a license key even though I am a registered user?

    A. Your runtime license key can be entered by the user the first time the application starts, or the component can be licensed from code the first time the application is run or from the installation program. See the following code sample on how to do this. The ERM3 .NET component is runtime royalty free and freely distributable within other applications by licensed developers.

    Q. If we purchased 3.x...will we have to purchase 3.8?

    A. Upgrades to ERM 3.8 are free from previous 3.x versions and recommended for performance improvements.

    Q. I cannot view SVG pages, all I see is a box on the web page.

    A. Ensure that you have downloaded an SVG viewer. A list of free SVG viewers is available here.

    Q. SVG pages are not returned to the client even though the SVG plug-in is installed. A download window appears instead of the file.

    A. Ensure that the server MIME type for the .svg extension is configured. The extension is .svg and the content type is image/svg+xml
